The Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam will thorougly test your engineering abilities. This examination is designed for engineers who have at least 4 years of post-college working experience in their chosen engineering field. The PE exam lasts 8 hours and is divided into a morning and an afternoon session.

There are several general rules that you should follow while preparing for PE exam. First of all, create a schedule several month prior the examination date and stick to it as much as possible. When you’re taking the exam, it’s likely that you haven’t been studying for several year. Don’t underestimate this and try to get back into the habit as quickly as possible. Also make sure that you intimately know all of the books that you bring to the exam. Fumbling through a book takes you a lot of precious time and not knowing if the answer is even there definitely won’t add up to your sense of confidence.
